Welcome to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ghana
"We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future." The National Sports College was established in 1984. As one of the ancillary departments of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports, it is charged with the task of training and re-training the technical human resource for the development and promotion of sports in Ghana. The college is sited at the grounds adjacent to the North Campus of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW). It runs a Residential Soccer Academy of forty-seven (47) students and a non Residential Tennis Academy for thirty (30) students.
The vision is to upgrade the college to a centre of Sports Excellence by providing modern standard infrastructure and facilities for the training of athletes, coaches, administrators, officials and to provide excellent hospitality services for customers in the sports and tourism industry for the development and promotion of sports and tourism in Ghana by 2015.
